Welcome to spring! Hopefully it will start feeling like spring soon!

In 7th grade math we are focused on applying our knowledge for how to solve for variables into understanding angle, line and polygon relationships.

In 7th grade science, phase one of the STEM fair has been completed! Our 10 semi-finalists will be narrowed down to four finalists who will go to the city-wide techno-fair in June.

We are working on completing our study of matter – elements and their atoms.  The upcoming unit in science will be on evolution and ecosystems.

Grade 7
April 2018

What a beautiful Lent and Easter we have celebrated together!  Our Junior High students’ participation in the Living Stations was just beautiful.  Being involved in St. Stan’s, as a student or an adult, makes practicing our faith so meaningful.  We walk together through the liturgical year, and truly God is with us as we gather in his name.
April will find Grade 7 busy learning in many different ways.  There is always something interesting going on in Junior High!

Religion – Grade 7:  We continue our in-depth study of Jesus with a focus on meaningful growth in our relationship with him.  We will look closely at Jesus’ words and actions and their meaning for us today.  We will study and discuss the New Testament, particularly the Resurrection and Ascension, and following events.
Social Studies – Grade 7: Ancient History:  Students are exploring the many ways Roman Civilization continues to influence our culture today.  We will find and discuss examples in art, architecture, philosophy, education, arts and sports.
Reading – Grade 7:  Students are very much enjoying An Invisible Thread.  We are engrossed with the story and the discussions it provokes.

Thank you for visiting our classroom website.

Grade 4K

Hello Families,

Happy Almost Spring, again!  It’s sure to arrive sometime.  The 4K class and I are enjoying our Reading and Handwriting time together.   The students are working hard and I am very proud of them.

Reading 4K:  We are continuing work in Unit 2: Work and Play.  Our next story will be “Marven of the Great North Woods” and we will be exploring questions like, “What is the value of a job well done?”  This applies to a lot of our work in school, as well as this particular story.  We will continue our Reading skills practice in our workbook and in our daily academic work.

Thank you,

Mrs. Bannister
